How We Started
Foundation History
The Glendale Fire Foundation was established in 2014 by Chief Harold Scoggins, Zaven Kazazian, Harry Hull, Page Whyte and Pat Liddell. The founding members had a mission to develop a non-profit organization seeking to assist in advancing the mission of the Glendale Fire Department by identifying and fulfilling the fire and life safety needs of the community.
The foundation is composed of community members who are actively committed to partnering with the Department to enhance the skills, training, and services that the Glendale Fire Department provides to the community. In an effort to support programs such as the community AED program, the foundation hosts a variety of fundraising events. In the past, the foundation partnered with Bloomingdale’s and the Glendale Galleria to host the Glendale Firefighters Walk in Fashion Show and coming this fall, the foundation will host a poker tournament.
In addition, the foundation actively tries to assist with educating the public about the importance of fire safety and preparedness by hosting booths at events such as Cruise Night. Although the Glendale Fire Foundation is a relatively new foundation, the goal of supporting the fire department in putting the Community First has enhanced the drive and determination of the board members to make the Glendale Fire Foundation one of the premiere foundations within the City of Glendale.
